J. Kyle Bachus is a founding partner of Bachus & Schanker, LLC. Mr. Bachus graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. degree and from the University of Florida College of Law where he was awarded a Juries’ Doctor Degree. Mr. Bachus is licensed to practice law in both the Federal and State courts in the State of Colorado and the State of Florida.
Mr. Bachus actively litigates cases involving catastrophic injuries, serious personal and financial damage, wrongful death, insurance bad faith and medical malpractice. Mr. Bachus limits his practice to the representation of victims and their families. In 2001, Mr. Bachus was chosen as Outstanding Trial Lawyer by the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. He is a member of The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Trial Lawyers For Public Justice, The National Crime Victims Bar Association, The Florida Bar, The Colorado Bar Association, The Denver Bar Association, The Academy of Catastrophic Injury Attorneys, and The American Association for Justice (formerly Association of Trial Lawyers of American). Mr. Bachus is currently serving his third term as an elected member of the Board of Directors for the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. Additionally, Mr. Bachus is one of two Colorado representatives to the Board of Governors for the American Association for Justice.
In 2003-2004, Mr. Bachus participated in the national Trial Lawyers Care program, which was established to help victims of the 9/11 tragedies and their families with their claims to the United States Government. Through this pro-bono program, Mr. Bachus represented a New York EMT who suffered disabling injuries at the World Trade Center site.
In 2005, Kyle Bachus was appointed to serve as the co-chair of the Colorado Trial Lawyers’ Association Auto Litigators Committee. In 2007, Mr. Bachus was named as one of Lawdragon’s 500 Top Leading Lawyers in America. Also in 2007, Mr. Bachus was named as a Superlawyer, earning this distinction for being rated in the state’s top 5% of attorneys.
Mr. Bachus continues to be a guest lecturer at seminars and conventions sponsored by numerous organizations including The Colorado Bar Association, The Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and The National Business Institute.
Mr. Bachus has extensive litigation and jury trial experience. He has litigated cases to trial verdict in both State and Federal Court in the State of Florida, the State of Colorado, the State of Missouri and the State of Washington. He has also presented oral arguments before the Fifth District Court of Appeals for the State of Florida and the Colorado Court of Appeals.
In addition to representing victims in a number of practice areas, including complex personal injury and medical malpractice claims, Mr. Bachus is a dedicated attorney serving individuals throughout Colorado.
